During our annual summer drinks party, we honoured our colleague Wilbrand van der Zouwen. He has been working at De Waal Machinefabriek for 25 years. He is a hard worker, a true professional, has a wealth of product knowledge – he is simply very good at his job!

Thanks to his efforts, ships worldwide are sailing comfortably and safely to their destinations – from Europe to South America and even Asia. There is hardly a port that Wilbrand has not visited. He joined De Waal on 5 June 2000, still very young: 26 years old. He has since grown to become 'head of commissioning'. Steering gear is perfectly calibrated and adjusted. 'Thanks to your craftsmanship, ships can steer comfortably and cargo and crew arrive safely at their destination,' said Marco de Waal during the summer drinks party.

In keeping with tradition, Wilbrand received an extra diamond on his De Waal pin for his anniversary. The challenge, of course, is to ultimately reach forty years, at which point he will receive another diamond. 

Of course, this afternoon we also reflected on the dedication of all the employees of De Waal Machinefabriek and  De Waal Metaaltechniek. Also on behalf of our new director Jacco. He has felt welcome from the start and is bursting with ideas to make De Waal even stronger and more visible.
