The machining of steel and other metals is the beating heart of our company. We machine propeller shafts up to twelve metres long, as well as small bronze seal rings, large sleeves, rudder stocks made of high-quality steel and propeller shaft nuts.
We machine all parts of our propulsion and manoeuvring systems in-house. De Waal has a large number of teach-in lathes and also has various fully CNC-controlled turning, milling and boring machines. These computer-controlled machines are capable of performing virtually all turning, milling and boring operations with fast turnaround times. Know-how

We not only use our machinery for our own products, but also carry out machining work for other clients from various industries. These include the offshore industry, the hydraulic engineering sector and the agricultural industry. We can also take care of all additional welding and construction work. De Waal is therefore a 'one-stop shop' for clients from all sectors.
De Waal can also play an advisory role in the design process. This translates into a more efficient production process. It starts with advising you on your designs. If desired, we can support the customer with our 3D drawing package. We help with the purchase of materials, all machining techniques and further handling of the product.
Thanks to good cooperation with the right suppliers, we work on a just-in-time basis and certain materials can sometimes be delivered pre-machined. This method of outsourcing can lead to significant savings in the overall machining process.
