The ultra-modern training ship AB INITIO was christened in Rotterdam on Friday, 2 September 2022. The ship sails with the well-known De Waal products: Easyflow rudders, a complete propeller shaft installation (including seals) and steering gear.
The fuel-saving Easyflow rudders were welded together by a high-tech welding robot and installed in the ship lift at Biesboschhaven.
The AB INITIO is a textbook example of sustainability. De Waal's products fit in perfectly with this. For example, Easyflow® is the most sustainable and green propeller system available. These propellers can achieve fuel savings of up to 15 per cent.

The ship is not only the showpiece of the school, but of the entire maritime shipbuilding sector. De Waal would like to thank Concordia Damen and STC Group for the excellent collaboration.
