The Stuwa® balance rudder is eminently suitable for use as a single rudder in line with the propeller, but is equally useful in a twin-rudder system. Or in a quadruple set-up for a twin-propeller ship. Your ship is our starting point. We will be happy to help you choose a rudder.
Rudder dynamics
The balance rudder features a sleek, symmetrical flow shape terminating in a sharply defined tail end that ensures optimised separation of the fast-flowing propeller wash. The result is a steady and quiet ship. The balance rudder can be fitted with either narrow or wide top and bottom plates. Depending on your application and the ship’s hull shape we will help you choose the right solution.
