Stuwa® Fish Tail Rudder

With the natural shape of a fish in mind, De Waal's engineers have succeeded in designing a sophisticated rudder profile. The fish tail profile offers improved manoeuvrability with relatively little resistance. In short, it's a good mix of advantages and, what's more, it's maintenance-free!

The Stuwa® fish tail rudder hangs straight in the centre of the propeller water. The rudder is equipped with wide, curved upper and lower plates that retain the water and thus create greater thrust.

Rudder dynamics

The fish tail design has a streamlined, mirrored outlet at the rear. This deflects the water a few extra degrees relative to the rudder angle. Small course corrections thus provide extra steering effect. The fish-shaped streamline offers hardly any resistance when sailing straight ahead.

Maintenance-free
