Ship lift '1' is the showpiece of the Biesbosch harbour. Originally built in the early 1970s, it was completely rebuilt and modernised in 2012.
With four hydraulic cylinders and eight thick steel cables, we can lift tugboats and push boats completely out of the water. The lift is suitable for all types of ships up to 11.50 metres wide and a maximum of 150 metres long. That gives you some perspective.
